Another lapse

I completely forgot that I even had a blog until Emily reminded me a few days ago. I've been so entirely busy with assloads of papers, a huge video project, exams, the band, organizing my summer job, and being drunk that it just slipped my mind completely.

Anyway, now I'm BACK...

My last weekend was a very huge last hurrah. I'll just say that it involved brownies, wine, getting kicked out of Spiritual Rez, bar(s), Jack, losing my cell phone, not getting into an Apollo show, and getting sick on top of everything. I'm still recovering. But I'm HOME and I feel much better already.

I love being able to jam out by myself and not be told to be quiet by RAs or sleepers or studyers... I was so itching to get out of the Little Building. People and the dining hall and the general atmosphere were really getting to me. Part of the reason I wanted to leave was the fact that I knew I would be coming back in the fall. If I were leaving forever it would probably be more difficult. Let's leave that for senior year.

I now have SIX songs to my name as a solo dude...NINE if you count the ones I wrote for Leslie to sing for the band. That's something I never thought would happen...I never thought I could write lyrics at all, but one fateful day I was inspired. And now I find myself unable to stop thinking of melodies or lyrics...strange.

Well, off to buy a new cell phone.

Peace.

I saw Fever Pitch today. First, it was only an alright movie...the whole red sox hype is what made it better. Drew Barrymore's sexiness kind of made it better too. But what made it AMAZING was ME and Dan C. and my parents...there was a short (4 seconds) clip of the sox duck tour parade going by my dorm, and we were definitely there. Awesome.

I'm really disappointed that I didn't audition for any shows this year. I get really pissed off when I see HORRIBLE plays, and the audience is so AWED by them. It's redic. This is what I get for being spoiled by a professional theatre in my high school. People here have a completely different idea of what it means to be "good," which, by the way, is a very overly-used term here. "How was the play?" "Oh, it was really good." "How was the acting?" "Good. All of them were so good." If that's all you have to say about a show, then it really wasn't that "good" at all. I must be missing something, because this PERFORMING ARTS school that I go to isn't measuring up to it's reputation. I'm auditioning for the first show I find next year, and I'm showing these assholes who's boss.

Wow, I'm really cocky.

quick thing...

I just realized, while listening to the new Apollo Sunshine EP, that they are going to get really really popular and they will probably become nationally (internationally?) known very soon. I'm not sure if this is good or bad.

At any rate, the show at the Iron Horse was fucking insane.

Back to Boston tomorrow...

Finally...

We decided on a band name.

HOTTENTOT VENUS

Applause, please.

I really don't have anything else to say. I haven't really been in the blogging mood lately.

Oh...just one thing. The next time you get the chance, fuckin do yourself a favor and watch "The Jungle Book." For real. Trust me.

Help me, Saint Patrick

Dear St. Patrick,

I've had the busiest week of my life this week. First of all, I had two large papers due for my writing class. Also, I have to write my huge research paper for next week. I have a huge project for media production also. Everything is so huge, Patty, and there's nothing I can do about it. I've had a headache for the past two days. Today in my film history class I asked a simple question about grading on the exam (which I did really well on, don't worry) and this kid said, "What's the logic in that?" What I said made perfect sense, and I was asking for extra points because I got an A, so he just looked like a huge tool. But he was such a fucking bitchdoucher for blatantly insulting me.

I've had a bad week, Pat. Please help me out. I've already started celebrating this day for you, and we're getting ready for our pub crawl. Things are looking up. Thanks for everything.

Yours truly,
Adam

One more day

New band name possibility: electric eleven?

I don't know...

I've become strangely obsessed with Israel Kamakawiwo Ole and Billy Ocean for some reason. For those of you who know who those two people are, don't ask any questions. Just cut straight to the insults.

Anyway, I'm heading home on Friday morning on LAKESHORE LIMITED! after only being back in Boston for five days. It's strange how, even though I was home last weekend, I'm just as excited to go home this weekend. Maybe it's because the only other person that has the same spring break as me is Cate. Nah, you're not that special.

Just kidding, french fry.

I can't wait for the ride home. I can continue "Mars/Venus." Lauren will be happy. I'm actually really enjoying it.

What is the deal with people having friend quizzes? They're so five years ago.
What is the deal with easy mac? It's so delicious.
What is the deal with people saying "heart?" Since when did a simple shape become a verb?
What is the deal with tiny cigars? Are they in?
What is the deal with Burberry scarves? Are they still in?

So I guess I'll let you guys in on my media production class. I just finished my first big project...an audio/stills video. Objective: tell an aspect of your life through still photographs and a soundtrack (including narration, sound effects, and music). Tell me what you think. I got five hours of sleep last night because of it.

I want Lunchables.

Band stuff...

Our nightly jam sessions have finally turned into nightly band practices. It's official. Leslie, Alex, Brendan, Me, and Brian (random drummer we found who goes to Berklee). The perks of having a Berklee student in our band are great: we get to use their practice rooms, which have drum kits, amps, even an organ. I'm totally excited.

We've come to a dead end thinking of band names, though. Here are a few we've considered:

Playola
Unkind Julius
Considerably Travis
AutomatiKinetic
The Very Stones
The B-Line
Twofold
Sycorax

Also, I painted my ukelele. Look at the pictures
here and here

What?

Shit, being punished at Emerson blows. Here's what my violation will entail:

1) A fine of $50-$75
2) Probation into the beginning of the Fall semester
3) A counseling session
4) A four page paper on how I learned from this experience
5) Restriction from getting a suite next year

What...the...fuck...

Lull

I haven't posted in more than a week...thought I'd give it a shot.

Interesting things from this past weekend:

Went to see the Dark Side laser show at the science museum. I'm not kidding when I say this: it was so amazing that I lost feeling in a few limbs. I def recommend that. Not losing limbs, seeing the show.

Got my first alcohol violation on Saturday night. When I say that it sounds as though I'm going to get more...didn't mean it that way. I have a meeting with my RD tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I watched some of the game on Sunday, which is a step up for me. Alex, Leslie and I got really distracted jammin' out to Radiohead. Half-time + Paul = glorious.

"I love you more
than I did the week before
I discovered alcochol.
Oh, alcohol, would you please forgive me?"
